Description
In ancient times on Earth as many legends begin lived a man named Kintu {(meaning - thing/a thing) in Luganda and some other Bantu languages} alone with his cow .. he lived by farming and the milk his cow produced. High above Earth lived Gulu (Luganda meaning is Heaven) who is King of Heaven with his many sons and daughters who regularly visited Earth.
One day Nambi the daughter of Gulu saw Kintu and it was love at first sight. Nambi asked for permission to marry Kintu which Gulu eventually agreed to after seeing Kintu did well in the tasks he was asked to perform. The happy couple then with His Blessing went to live on Earth. Nambi took some chickens, and seeds to sow for crops as she bade farewell to her relatives.
She was seen off by some of her brothers and sisters. Walumbe who is the most feared of Nambi's brothers was not present but Gulu urged a quick departure to avoid confrontation. Whilst Nambi was on her way to Earth she remembered she had forgotten her millet for her chickens and tried to return to pick some up. However she was stopped midway by Walumbe on her way who demanded to know her destination. Out of fear Nambi revealed Her relationship with Kintu and with this Walumbe allowed her on her way.
Kaikuzi another of Nambi's brothers was sent to Earth when it was discovered that Walumbe had also made his appearance on Earth and begged Walumbe to return to Heaven. Despite theappeal from Kaikuzi , Walumbe insisted that his return to heaven was dependent on Nambi returning too as he was opposed to Her marriage.
Kaikuzi then began to tackle Walumbe as they struggled Walumbe managed to escape and make his way to a hole in a hillside into which he entered. Kaikuzi then not seeing Walumbe returned to Heaven.
Nambi and Kintu then lived happily ever after

Fabulous piece Gloria, they all tell a story and remind me of the ancient carvings and symbols found around the world. Maybe someday this piece and so many of your others will be cherished artifacts for future generations..
