High above Earth lived Gulu (Luganda meaning is Heaven) who is King of Heaven with his many sons and daughters who regularly visited Earth. One day Nambi the daughter of Gulu saw Kintu and it was love at first sight. Nambi asked for permission to marry Kintu which Gulu eventually agreed to after seeing Kintu did well in the tasks he was asked to perform. The happy couple then with His Blessing went to live on Earth. Nambi took some chickens, and seeds to sow for crops as she bade farewell to her relatives. She was seen off by some of her brothers and sisters. Walumbe who is the most feared of Nambi's brothers was not present but Gulu urged a quick departure to avoid confrontation.
